Now there is an alternative to losing your photographic heritage. It is no longer inevitable that your family pictures disappear before your children or grandchildren see them. Thanks to great advances in digital technologies, your pictures can now be scanned, touched-up, and reprinted in true archival photo-quality. All Family Reserve prints are made using processes that have been certified by independent testing labs to be colorfast for over 200 years in book form, and over 80 years when framed for display. This means that in 200 years, a page in a Family Reserve photo book will not look any different from the original to the human eye.
The pages, available in gloss, semi-gloss, and matte, are the finest bright, acid-free, lignin-free coated archival papers. Our paper and ink combinations are resistant to light, heat, moisture, atmospheric reactants like ozone, and internal chemical reactions that can cause yellowing or cracking.
    Our
hardbound albums are high-quality coffee-table books. The covers are made of a handsome, durable, leather-grained material. The durable binding glue will not crystallize or crack. The images are printed with 100% pigment based inks, like the colorants in fine oil paintings, not the short-lived dye-based inks used in nearly all printing processes. Wilhelm Imaging Research has certified these inks for light fastness from 80 to 200 years on a range of media, even when subjected to constant light.
For even greater protection, all our albums are available with an additional protective coating. This offers more protection from light, water, moisture, airborne contaminants and even fingerprints. It increases the contrast of the prints, and makes them nearly waterproof. The special archival formulation will not yellow, crack, or react with the paper or inks.
